Key Concepts ↗️

Geography ID

ATTOM's unique, persistent id for the geographic entity (ex: 9064ec3fadc2223687c073ba3fc3ddd4 for Orange County, CA). These IDs are also unique across all geographic layers (i.e. a county and a zip code will never have the same id). These IDs can be used to join to the corresponding boundary product (Counties, Zip Codes, Neighborhoods, etc) to obtain additional information such as name, typology, other geographic relationships, FIPS / Census / USPS codes, and boundary for the geographic entity.

Geography Name/Label

A name / label for the geographic entity such as "Orange County, CA" for a county record or "90210" for a zip code record. Note that these names / labels will not always be unique for some layers. Join to the corresponding boundary product (Counties, Zip Codes, Neighborhoods, etc) to access a wider set of name, typology, geographic relationships, FIPS / Census / USPS codes and other fields for the geographic entity.
