Additional Datasets

🚧

A Dewey Institutional Subscription is required to add additional datasets to your Catalog.

What are additional datasets?

The datasets listed in the Connect tab give researchers access to additional datasets outside of the Dewey Subscription from vetted providers through a streamlined, transparent process without the traditional procurement headaches. Datasets available to delivery through Dewey live directly on the Dewey platform alongside your existing subscription data, so you get the same familiar interface for discovery, downloads, project management, and team collaboration.

How does it work?

These datasets will live directly on the Dewey platform, in the Connect tab. As a researcher on an institutional subscription, you can browse and sample data the same way you would any other dataset on the Dewey platform. If you're interested in learning more, you can click Request, fill out the information, and a Dewey team member will connect you directly with the provider. It should be noted that, for some universities, your request will go to the library rather than to the provider.

What happens when I add an additional dataset?

Once you or your library has licensed an additional dataset, the Dewey team will update your permissions and add the dataset to your Catalog. At this point, you can customize and download this data as you would any other dataset on the Dewey platform.

Why are some dataset columns blurred?

Some of the datasets on the Connect tab include PII. As a result, these columns are blurred out and won't be visible through the data dictionary, data preview, or sample. Once you have a license to access this dataset, and access has been granted, these columns will become viewable.
