Passby Retail Store Visitors

PassBy Retail Store Visitors

Overview

PassBy provides aggregated and anonymized foot-traffic and visitor-profile data for U.S. retail Points of Interest (POIs). The Retail Store Visitors dataset contains anonymized and aggregated visitor characteristic data for specific POIs, including date range, educational attainment, income, other brands visited, and more. Visitor characteristic and psychographic data are produced in partnership with TransUnion using the CAMEO classification system.

Data Description

The dataset is structured at the observation level of one row per (STORE_ID, MONTH_STARTING) pair.

Each row contains the following categories of variables:

  • Store Identifiers
  • Location Information
  • Temporal Bounds
  • Visit Metrics
  • Visitor-Profile Distributions

Coverage

Geographic Coverage: U.S. retail Points of Interest (POIs)

Temporal Coverage: The dataset is partitioned by MONTH_STARTING with coverage from 2019-01-01 through the most recent quarter.

Methodology

The data consists of anonymized and aggregated visitor-profile distributions at the POI level, rolled up monthly.

Psychographic profile codes (e.g. 1A, 1B, 2C) come from the PassBy partnership with TransUnion (CAMEO classification system). Separate documentation describes the 56-profile codebook.

All foot-traffic and visitor-profile data are aggregated and anonymized.

Additional Notes

Additional documentation for the TransUnion CAMEO classification system used for psychographic profiles is available separately and describes the 56-profile codebook in detail.

Store_ID
