Methodological Changes in Advan Monthly Patterns in Q1-Q2 of 2023?
Hi,
Advan Monthly Patterns traffic drop in Nov/Dec 2022 -- any updates?
In the documentation of methodology differences between Advan and SafeGraph Patterns, section "No Modeling of Visits/Visitors in Shared Geometries", it describes how a traffic drop was over-stated for NAICS codes including restaurants due to a traffic drop in parks that shared polygons with establishments in these NAICS codes. It says "Advan is actively working on a long-term fix and is running further analyses to understand mitigation techniques and further causes." Has a long-term fix been implemented?
How to distinguish the SafeGraph and Advan Patterns datasets?
Dear Dewey team,
ADVAN Foot Traffic Weekly/Monthly Patterns Filters in downloading
Dear team, is it possible to enable filters when downloading the ADVAN Foot Traffic dataset? Given that I only need 3 regions out of 54 it would be better for me to just have the three needed region instead of the whole dataset. Thank you!
Data Interprability Issues / Data Instability for Advan Data
Hi,
Missing CBGs in Philadelphia County (2021–2024) in Foot Traffic / Neighborhood Patterns Data
Hi there,
Device type counts and Raw visit counts in Advan Traffic Data
I noticed that the sum of device counts in DEVICE_TYPE is often greater than the total number of visitors in RAW_VISITOR_COUNTS. As in the first row of the data preview, the raw visit counts is 5, but the Device Type has an entry of {"android":4,"ios":4}", which I interpreted as 4 android devices and 4 iOS devices. How are device types registered to each POI and is the reason the sum of device counts higher than the total number of raw visitors because each visitor can bring multiple devices to the location? Or if a focal visitor makes several trips to the given POI, is it possible that their devices are counted multiple times?
Advan weekly patterns: What year is home CBG from?
What census year is the census block group home for visitors from? I am working with a dataset from NY, and it has 16208 CBGs. The 2020 census for NY reports 16070 CBGs
Monthly footprint data
We noticed that the number of visits reported in the "VISITOR_HOME_CBGS" column shows unexpected jumps from March 2023 through November 2024 in the monthly footprint data; before this period, the data looks normal. The values in this column are not even close to those in the "RAW_VISITOR_COUNTS" column. Ideally, these two columns should have similar, if not identical, values. However, we observed a significant discrepancy, which we have highlighted in red in the attached CSV file as an example. We would greatly appreciate any insights you could provide regarding potential reasons for this inconsistency and whether there is a known explanation for such a pattern. We have observed a similar trend in the weekly mobility data, although the variation there is much less pronounced than in the monthly data.
