Subscriptions Explained
How do Dewey subscriptions work?
With one annual payment, Dewey subscribers unlock unlimited access to datasets, including complete historical coverage and ongoing updates/refreshes. Subscribers unlock the flexibility of working across a plethora of data providers and datasets, all under one license.
Types of Subscriptions
Dewey supports individual researchers as well as institutional access for entire departments, schools, and universities.
Researcher
The Researcher subscription is designed for individuals and small teams who need direct access to Dewey's dataset catalog.
Each subscription is administered by one researcher, who can create projects, invite collaborators, and designate a limited number of data Downloaders per project. Admins control which datasets are available on each project, making it easy to work across different teams and co-authors.
Institutional
Institutional licenses are built for departments, business schools, and universities that need to provide data access across a group. All students, research assistants, and faculty within the licensed group are covered under a single agreement.
Institutional licenses include everything in the Researcher tier, plus:
Additional datasets unlocked beyond the standard catalog
Access to negotiate direct licenses with Connect data providers
Classroom and teaching use cases
The ability to add external co-authors as collaborators (without granting them direct data access)
Tier | Description |
|---|---|
Department | A single academic unit focused on one discipline or field — such as a Marketing department within a Business School. |
School | A collection of related departments under one faculty or college — such as a Business School or School of Engineering. |
University | Covers all schools and departments institution-wide. All faculty and students are included under a single license. Dewey can also configure single sign-on (SSO) for university wide access. |
Datasets
A Dewey license unlocks access to almost all of the datasets on the platform. There are three data providers/sets that require an institutional license and are not available to individual researchers.
Data Partner | Datasets |
