Survey question about second-choice (or alternative) brand for major appliance.
I am currently working on a project using the major appliance data from the OpenBrand Dewey dataset, and I have a few questions regarding how the underlying survey data were collected. In particular, I am interested in understanding the survey questions used to elicit individuals’ brand consideration sets.
Specifically, I would like to know how second-choice (or alternative) brand preferences were measured. For example, were respondents asked something along the lines of: “Which brand is your first choice, and which is your second choice?” Any details you could provide about the wording or structure of these questions would be extremely helpful for my analysis.
If possible, could you also share the full survey questionnaire or any related documentation?
