Auto Ownership Dataset Question

(edited)

Hi, I accessed the Auto Ownership dataset by Infutor in February 2025.

According to the documentation, fuel type code “H” is defined as hydrogen (fuel cell). I observed that vehicles coded as “H” are overwhelmingly associated with models such as the Ford Escape in my dataset. These models are not classified as hydrogen fuel cell vehicles based on manufacturer specifications and EPA fuel type classifications.

Given that hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are extremely limited in the U.S. fleet, this pattern suggests there may be a potential matching or coding issue in this dataset version.

Could you please confirm:

Whether the “H” code strictly represents hydrogen fuel cell vehicles

Whether there may have been a VIN-to-fuel-type matching issue

Whether an updated or corrected version is available

Thank you.
