Time-of-survey information for Consumer Profiles -- FOLLOW UP
ORIGINAL QUESTION:
The Verisk data module "Consumer Profiles" (as far as I can tell) does not contain any time-related variables whatsoever.
The Verisk "Property Data" page states: "This comprehensive dataset can be joined to the Total Consumer Insights - Consumer Panel dataset from Verisk using the address ID (ADDRID) attribute to include hundreds of demographic characteristics about the owners and tenants."
If the "Consumer Profiles" dataset does not contain a "year-of-survey" or similar year information, how can we merge property characteristics with demographic characteristics when a different household could be residing at that address at the time of survey? Both of these datasets are cross-sections.
Eg,take a "Consumer Profiles" household with a given set of demographics which lives at address "123 Main St" during 2002 — 2014, but house "123 Main St" is then surveyed in the "Property Data" in 2023, so merging on ADDRID results in the demographics attached to this house being inaccurate.
Can someone please advise on this?
FOLLOW UP:
- How often do these refreshes happen? Is a refresh the same as a release?
- Is it possible to access previous releases?
- How can we construct a panel over each release if they don't contain a "date of survey" variable?
Surely, Verisk/Dewey records a date variable at some point during the data collection process -- it would be incredibly helpful to get that information for the Consumer Profile dataset.
Thank you.
