As the guidance (https://github.com/Dewey-Data/SafeGraph-PublicCompanies) claims, neither SafeGraph nor Compustat provide historical ticker information (i.e. the ticker identified by each data source is the ticker as of a particular point in time.), then is there any method that we can use to lower down the mismatch rate when linking SafeGraph with Compustat? Is "Stock Symbol" the only identifier available?

The guidance shares an example that SafeGraph does not take into account the time-series of parent company changes. Tiffany & Co. (a publicly traded company) was acquired by LVMH in January 2021 — SafeGraph reflects the current structure, listing LVMH as the parent company of the Tiffany & Co. brand. In this case, will the store visits to Tiffany & Co. before the acquisition be added to LVMH?
