09.25.25 Product Update
User Management Improvements for Institutional Admins
Admins can not sort, filter, and review users associated with their accounts. This will make it easier to see who has last used the platform and manage overall access.
DeweyPy: Faster Smarter Data Downloads
We're introducing our new Python client, deweypy, designed to make downloading the data you need simpler and more efficient.
With multi-threaded downloads, robust error handling, and date partitioning, you can now access large amounts of data on Dewey with ease and confidence. Best of all, installation is just one line away on PyPI:
uvx --from deweypy dewey --api-key {YOUR_API_KEY} speedy-download {FOLDER_ID}
View the docs for more on downloading data instantly with a single CLI command.
Smarter Data Access with DuckDB + Polars
We’ve made it easier to work with massive datasets without pulling down every row. With our new DuckDB + Polars workflow, you can query and filter data directly against Parquet files—only downloading the slices you need.
From there, Polars makes it simple to lazily load and analyze results, letting you scale your analysis without scaling your hardware.
The end result: faster, lighter, and more efficient research workflows. Check out the tutorial to try it for yourself.
Data Partner Updates
LinkUp Job Posting Data (Live October 1st)
LinkUp is a leading job posting provider that sources postings directly from employer websites around the globe. Unlike other providers, who use job posting boards or aggregators, this dataset uses the hiring company as the source and includes jobs from over 80,000 companies. Learn more in the LinkUp Docs page.
Advan Patterns+
All of Dewey subscriptions now include Patterns+ products for Weekly and Neighborhood Patterns. This new product varies from previous versions in that it is pre-normalized for the panel and utilizes POI polygons developed directly by Advan.
The previous Patterns dataset will remain on the Dewey platform for the time being, but will no longer be updated. You can view the Patterns+ Documentation for more information.
